Hey,

Does iTunes match playback effect battery life on an iPhone to a noticeable degree?

Also, which phone?

R.

i know it's only been a day... but anyone can weigh in on their experience?

gods yes. it's gobbling my battery faster than pacman can eat dots. i could easily go a day with my phone sitting around. now my battery life seems to be dropping very rapidly since i turned on match. turning it off stops the drain, so i'm certain that's what is causing it (iOS 5.0 here). it is definitely one thing that won't last longer than kim kardashian's marriage.

Yeah, I just noticed this too. My iPad's battery is getting killed on standby after I turned on Match. Why would Match cause this sort of drain?

It's probably looking to the iTunes server for info. I haven't noticed an issue with my 4S or iPad 2 but if you are, try removing it from the multitask tray after you're done using it.
