iTunes Match question

I have been using iTunes Match since day 1. With iOS6 and the iPhone 5, it is definitely more reliable and quick especially over LTE. I remember reading though that with iOS6 you would be able to stream songs and not download them to the phone. Is this not true??
 
Unfortunately it isn't in iOS 6. It was rumored to be, and at one point I thought Apple themselves announced such a feature, but they hadn't. I think it may have been a feature when iOS 6 was in beta - but one thing's for sure, it's not in the final build.
