iTunes Match song downloads frozen in music app

Hi all,
I started downloading some music from iCloud on my iPhone 4 with ios5 and it showed the little circles next to each song but they stay empty and have been for weeks now, one of the songs I can play all the way through,but the rest I try and they just sit in the now playing controls and do nothing... I've tried going to settings and deleting all my music and turning off iTunes Match but then it just shows those songs in my music library...

All I can think of to do next is restore my phone but I really don't want to, what else is there??

hope it's not to late for this but have you tried going into itunes on your phone and checking the downloads folder? I've found a few songs in there that were waiting to be downloaded and once I cleared those out my itunes match content got going again.
