Hi,

I am getting prepared to migrate from Windows to Mac and I am doing tests with iTunes.

I imported the Pulp Fiction soundtrack, as I wanted to see how the files would be organized.
I was glad to see it is stored under the Various Artists folder, which means iTunes used the Album Artist tag.
However, the filenames themselves are strange...

Sometimes, it is %track% - %artist% - %title%
Sometimes, it is %track% %title%

Why not all the same?
It's the same album and all songs are tagged properly... so why??

Thanks for the help.

This is exactly why I prefer to manage my media files myself, rather than let iTunes do it. I just leave the following boxes unchecked and keep my file/folder structure and my preferred file naming convention.

In iTunes > Preferences > Advanced uncheck these boxes:
attachment.php

Yeah I am aware of those options and I'm trying to decide whether to use them or not.
Guess I won't :)

However any music I buy from iTunes will be named according to iTunes rules right?
Which means I still would have to do some manual work afterwards...
