Hi all,
I have a 2011 imac with a SSD and a 1 tb HD inside. I have my itunes music library (.xml) file on the SSD and the itunes media folder on the 1tb drive. When Mavericks is released, i plan on re-formatting the SSD....but ofcorse keeping the 1tb drive as is.
I know that when you start itunes, you can hold down the opt key and choose a library.....but i wasnt sure how it would work if just the media folder is on the 1tb drive. Will i just be able to point the new install of itunes to the old media folder?

Keep the xml file, install Mavericks and run iTunes once to create an empty library, overwrite the new library xml file ( remember to uncheck "Keep iTunes Media folder organized" in iTunes preferences)

thanks..
just the iTunes music library.xml file itself or should i make a copy of the entire itunes folder on the SSD now and keep it on an external for later?
