itunes media space error

when i connected my ipod touch to itunes today the bar that shows what media is on your ipod was all orange. Even though the day before it was normal showing the color of what media type preocupied a given amount of space. well combining all the media i had was about 5 gigs and it showed the different colors but today its 5 gigs with all orange and when i synced it did not reconnize my music videos and pics and just copied it brand new now taking up 10 gigs
