Hello. So i had to update my iTunes to support my 6s. I have 12.3.0.44 now. When i plug in my 6s to "back up" it seems a little different than my older version of iTunes. Im 99% positive that in my old iTunes, if with my phone plugged in, i went to "info" i had way more options of things that i wanted to back up into iTunes, more "check boxes" if you will. Two things I'm no longer seeing is "notes" and "voice memos", i don't see the option to click those boxes to back up my notes and voice memos and I'm positive i had those options before. Im worried I'm not backing up everything i want backed up. Am i missing something? Does everything on the phone just get backed up automatically? I did recently start backing up contacts and calendars via iCloud, which is totally new to me and makes me nervous, but i didn't do anything with notes or voice memos in iCloud.
My second questions is about "syncing". In the past i would click "sync" at the bottom right corner of the iTunes page nest to the % bar and then when that was done i would "back up". I talked briefly to phone support recently about this when i called about a different issue. Phone support told me that the only reason i would need to "sync" is if i had something in my iTunes that i wanted on my phone, maybe movies, music, stuff like that? Is that true? For the record i have nothing like that in my iTunes, so is it true that i don't have to bother with the "sync" function?
Thanks. O
