I rented the movie Outland yesterday from the Norwegian iTunes Store. Shortly after it began downloading I got a peculiar error message saying that I don't have permission to write to the iTunes library. Strange since I am the only user of this iMac and I have admin access. And shortly after this, I got several error messages saying my Keychain had been reset.

After watching the movie I would look into this, but upon hitting play I got an error message saying that my version of iTunes doesn't support this file. I tried several times, and even rebooted, to no avail. The only thing that changed upon reboot was the rental. It disappears from iTunes!

It was only when starting Safari that a slew of Keychain error messages popped up saying that a certificate could not be found and I was presented with an Keychain option to either Cancel or Reset to Defaults for every single one of the errors. Neither option helps. And Internet Accounts keeps pestering me to enter my Facebook password. This is still happening as we speak. It would seem that all of my passwords were lost, in both Internet Accounts and the Keychain.

So I tried launching Battle.net to play Heroes of the Storm, but the Battle.net launcher suddenly refused to launch at all. It was fine just hours before.

It should be noted that both iTunes and OS X was up-to-date at this point. I installed the 10.10.4 update before all of this happened. (iTunes 12.2 had not showed up in the Software Update yet). Maybe the 10.10.4 is the culprit.

It baffles me how Apple boasts that their services and products "Just Work", but fail to mention that some rental movies in their shop are invalid purchases.

What do I do now? How do I stop these Keychain messages? Is the Keychain reset the reason Battle.net won't launch, or is due to the 10.10.4 update. Was it the rental that started all of this?

Please help!
