Hello ,

I might be in the wrong, sorry in advance if I am.

I was wondering what quality (HD or SD) people with Macbook Air's were buying movies from itunes? Can you tell the difference between HD and SD on the Mac Air screen?

Thanks !

The MBA resolution will support 720p, but higher than that is pointless.

Whether or not the higher resolution is worth it depends on the resolving power of your eyes and the viewing distance. If close, yes it'll probably be noticeable, but from farther away you probably won't be able to tell.

When buying from the itunes store HD you can buy either 720p or 1080p with is HD I just get 1080p since I have apple tv and my HD TV support 1080p

But will there be a difference better standard def and 720 or 1080 on the macbook air screen?

I answered just that question.
The 720p could look hypothetically better, assuming your eyes have the capability to resolve the higher resolution (i.e. you're close enough).
The 1080p can't be displayed on the screen anyway, but I guess it could sample down to a smaller resolution, but then why bother at that point?
