Me and my fiancee sometimes like to cuddle up in bed or sofa and will watch a movie.

We loved are android phones and tablets for this.

So last night I thought I have a look at the 6s plus for a movie.

Well sorry it was rubbish experience.

Not a easy as play movies to find stuff.
What is on there is not the same as google movies and a lot of it is older movies (in the category I was looking). The trailers, ok not apples fault are worse than those in play movies.

Only good thing is most the movies are cheaper than play movies to rent.

Sorry will be keeping my samsung 8.4" tab S for movies.

I know many love itunes movies, but sorry just not me.
I am probably biased as been android for so many years with only recently switching due to problems with EE and I had an old three data contract I changed to a voice/data contract.

They have all the new releases on iTunes. I don't really know about navigating the stores as I usually know what I want. However for tv shows iTunes is better. There are a lot of TV shows, Star Trek for example that are just not available on the google play store. I was using google play (UK) long before it sold movies and to shows. I kept waiting for them to be on par with iTunes interns of Availability but it never happened and still hasn't happened.

agree with TV shows much better.

Was searching comedy movies and new and noteworthy.
Was getting movies from 1988 and such just wanted to find latest movies like google play.

There was quite a few low budget movies showing up.

Like I said at moment i'm probably biased as only recent swap to IOS

It's probably because you're not used to searching iTunes and maybe it doesn't bring up the latest releases when you search but it does have all the latest films.

There might be a few exclusives on each, but iTunes should have pretty much the same selection as Google Play. Maybe you're just talking about browsing for new movies?

Also, Google Play Movies is available on iOS, so there's no reason to keep an Android tablet specifically for that.

I don't normally buy movies online, but when I do, I just use Google Play so I can access them on any device. iTunes movies can't be played on Android devices which sucks. The only stupid thing about GP Movies is there's no app for Windows or macOS AFAIK, so I can't download movies on my laptop and watch them offline.

You can watch your purchased movies and tv shows through YouTube. However these have to be streamed and can't be downloaded.

Yeah the problem isn't being able to stream them. Just download them. Can't do that on macOS or Windows.

iTunes will let you download movies on any OS, but there's no way to watch iTunes movies on Android at all thanks to DRM.

If you use google chrome browser you can add play movie extension that lets you watch/rent movies.
Can even watch if offline it claims!

Not tried it yet but I might on my imac.

Was not aware play movies available on IOS platform.
I will try itunes more and see how it goes it all new to me still.

no that not what I said!

I happen to have an iphone now after problems with my s7 edge on ee.

So I am now having to get used to itunes movies.

Im just saying that for me play movies is better and easier to use for me.

true thats why need keep using it.

prices are better so that is a big incentive to use it lol

Are you claiming that Google Play movies and tv shows are drm-free?

i was talking about apple and drm. not claiming drm free content on anywhere... but itunes + drm is big no-no because it can be played only with itunes/apple devices, and itunes is depending on apple and apple is way too restrictive all the way.

Yeah, Apple's drm is totally restrictive, everyone else's is awesome.

Interesting. What I found is, movies on Play Store CANNOT be downloaded in HD, which is totally a turn off for me. Video quality is way much worse than iTunes Store, on which, I can always download HD movies to iOS devices and Mac/PC, or stream them on any iOS/ATV/Mac/PC in HD.

But on Play Store, the HD is just a scam. I had a 6.4" Sony Xperia Z Ultra, now have a Samsung Galaxy 7. On both of them I can download HD movies at the size of ONLY 1.X GB from Play Store. While the same movie on iTunes Store will be like 5.X GB.

Both iTunes and Google Play are great places for movies. Choosing which store mainly depends on your own requirements. For instance, iTunes Store might be the better choice if you are looking for a specific film as it provides a larger movie catalog than Google Play. But if you consider more about the playback devices, Google Play should be the first consideration for it's available on more platforms. To find out more differences between those two, this review of iTunes vs Google Play might explain it better.

Over paranoid much ? I mean they do that but not bad enough to avoid them ... there is much worse like Facebook

Not sure what’s worse really. Both make a business out of data mining. It’s a question of personal preference how much of your life you’d like to submit to those companies of course, and how you feel about doing that.

As somebody who used Android in the past and probably in the future it’s a non issue. At the end of the day your personal info is handle correctly and is sent anonymous to third parties they can go ahead. Google so far for the most part hasn’t had any crises in the privacy department. Facebook has.
