iTunes Music Folder Problems

Ok. I bought a new portable hard drive and I wanted to clear up my Macintosh HD so I moved my iPhoto stuff and iTunes stuff on to this new hard drive. Then I opened iTunes, set the folder location to the area on my hard drive. Then I clicked ok and restarted iTunes but no music! What am I doing wrong, please help me.

Make sure your iTunes music folder is set as your external within the iTunes options. Next you probably just need to re-drag all of your songs into iTunes, just clear your playlist first or you may get duplicates.

How, exactly, did you move your iTunes library? Did you do it like this: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301748. If not, you may have not moved all of the necessary components, or you may have missed the "Consolidate" step.
