Hey, I've noticed that in my default Music catalogue, (where I keep all my music files), there is an iTunes catalogue with a Music subfolder.
So I have my Music folder weighing 49GB and the (iTunes) Music folder weighing 23GB.
Does the iTunes folder contain copies thus adding 23GB to my hard drive? Or is it just music from Music catalogue (23GB of the 49GB that I have). If these music files from the iTunes catalogue are duplicates then: are they needed, can I erase them?

Thanks.

If you have the following boxes checked in iTunes > Preferences, when you add music to your library, iTunes makes a copy. If that's the case, you can delete the originals. If you leave those boxes unchecked, you can have music in multiple locations, but have it all in the same library. You can right-click any song in iTunes and select "Show in Finder" or right-click and "Get Info" and see the path in the Summary tab.
