Noticing this happening more often but my iTunes library file will randomly get damaged. No rhyme or reason. Just one morning I'll wake up with it damaged. I'm trying to get into the habit of backing it up often but this most recent time I was a month behind. Right now I just dragged my entire music folder into my iTunes in effort to try and repair the music. I lose important details like Date added etc. Especially since iTunes doesn't have "Date Created" column (not sure why). Does anyone know what causes this? I have an extremely large library 102,000 songs. Mainly from life as a DJ. Any better way to do backups via APFS (Time machine I heard does not work...and carbon copy cloner I'm a little wary of because I simply want to preserve my iTunes library etc)

When I say getting damaged often..I mean this has happened 3 times in a period of 6-8 months. My work with the DJ stuff requires different programs accessing the iTunes XML file for playlist reference etc.
