I have a Mac Pro tower (Mid 2010) running macOS Sierra and since the upgrade whenever my Avaya deskphone rings it causes iTunes to pause. Frankly, I don't care enough about calls to like that this is happening, in fact it's rather frustrating.

I have an external microphone hooked up (Yeti) and my assumption is that Siri is listening to the ambient noises in the room and thinks the phone call warrants stopping the music.

Any thoughts on how to turn this annoying behavior off?

can't you mute the microphone input, just turn it up when you need it? (assuming it's not some weird 2.4ghz wifi interference thing...)
