I checked Apple Taiwan site, Hong Kong site & China site, and find a strange thing.

Hong Kong site

Form the screenshoots, we can see apple offers a iTunes Music Store coupon to redeem for a 30-minute video of music videos and band interviews with iPod U2 for Taiwan & Hong Kong customers. But as everybody knows, iTunes Music Store is not available in Taiwan & HK.
By contrast, Apple does not offer this video to China customers.
Can we conclude that apple will open TW & HK music store soon?

Good bit of detective work!

Any move to expand the reach of iTMS is a good thing for Apple I believe. I wonder what criteria Apple has used to guide its international expansion to date. I guess some combination of current level of (legal - or illegal?) music sales/downloads; broadband penetration; iPod penetration; population...

I would have though HK and Taiwan would have been reasonably well placed on that sort of scale - even South Korea too

Lets hope Apple is looking for increased expansion of iTMS - and lets hope too that all features make their way eventually to all stores - TV is an obvious one - but even the new Nike section of the store that is due with 6.0.5 - will that be international?

If you read the fine print, it says "Video is available for download only in countries with the iTunes Music Store." Link

That's why i guess that TW & HK Music Store will open. If the video is not available in those areas, why don't Apple remove the video code from iPod U2s there, just like China.
