iTunes Music Store radio advertisements

Driving to work early this morning and listening to my favorite morning talk show, I was pleasantly surprised to hear a iTMS advertisement AND an iPod advertisement. Now, I was surprised because this is a local station with a local morning talk show. I'm not actually sure if it's owned by a larger media company or not but if it isn't, does Apple really advertise on locally owned radio stations? or even big conglomerates? Just curious.
