I think it's time to move my music/video/apps/etc., over to my iMac and make it my primary system. I can see my music collection over the home sharing setup and have transferred some stuff to the iMac as a test which it did relatively quickly.

Does anyone have any thoughts on whether this would be a good idea, or would just doing a backup of my iTunes library to dvd and then doing a restore to my new machine be a better idea?

Any thoughts would be appreciated. I didn't see an iTunes folder so mods feel free to relocate this thread as needed if it does not belong here. Thanks in advance.

Depends how paranoid you are. I've never had a problem direct sharing, how many GB's?

About 60 something gigs. I'm not concerned about security here at the house. My nearest neighbor is about 3 acres over. Is that what you mean?
