My current network setup:

I have a MacMini and a Macbook Pro. I have to independently update each Mac machine with new mp3s. Sure, I can use the iTunes network share feature, but I don't want to leave my Mac on all the time when I have a Windows 7 server specifically for serving media. I also want to be able to sync my ipods/iphones on any Mac client machine.

What I want to achieve:

I want to store all my mp3s, itunes apps, and library.xml file on my Windows server and use my Macs as iTunes clients.

Example tutorial: (Only for Macs, though)

My concerns:

1) The library.xml paths are formatted differently for Macs and Windows. I assume this would only be a problem if I have a Windows iTunes client machine? Or maybe it's a problem regardless of a windows client?

2) The windows 7 server has a NTFS file system. Will my Macs be able to read/write information to/from the Windows server?

3) Any other foreseeable problems?

Thanks much, esoin
