iTunes no longer allowing use of AIM accounts?

I've used my AIM account to login to itunes for many years because I was a windows user when i started using itunes, and it was just easier that way.

Now today i have many music and iphone app purchases attached to my AIM account, and today when i tried to update an iphone app it asked me to login, then told me I needed to create an Apple ID.

The problem is that I already have an Apple ID, and it will not let me specify an existing Apple ID, only create a new one. I do not want to create a 2nd Apple ID. What should I do now?
