I recently re-installed my OS and started fresh. Before, when I would try to delete something from iTunes, it would ask if I wanted to keep the file or move it to the trash. It doesn't do that anymore it just keeps the file. How do I make that message reappear?

Launch iTunes
Go to Preferences
Go to Advanced tab

In about the middle of the page next to Reset all dialog warnings: Click the Reset warnings button

That will reset all warnings to default.

Didn't Work

That didn't change anything. It still just removes it and doesn't actually delete it.

Any more ideas?

I Googled a bit and it seems that for this to work the music has to be in the iTunes Library, not elsewhere on your Mac. Also, you need to be deleting the song from the Library section of iTunes, not a Playlist, if deleted from a Playlist all it does is remove it from the Playlist not the Library.

And if none of the above applies, have you shutdown/started up since the problem occurred?
