Hey guys, so I had yosemte on my laptop with an iTunes library, backed up the library to my external hard drive but now when i transfer and try to open the library in iTunes I get a message saying the library was created in a newer version of iTunes. which was iTunes 12, how do i get my music converted back so that iTunes in mavericks can read it and play it?

thank you!!

The library files themselves aren't compatible. You'll have to manually drag and drop the folders that contain the actual songs and start over, creating all your playlists and whatnot.

Either that, or just be patient and wait for iTunes 12 to be released for Mavericks. It's probably going to come out after Apple's Sep 9th event.
