iTunes not connecting to iTunes Store? (Windows)

Hey, I'm at a friends house and he has just got his internet working. So he wants to get the album artworks for his music and do an update for his nano but it keeps saying that iTunes cannot connect to the iTunes Store. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks a lot
