I'm a bit stubborn and weird in the eyes of "modern" music distributors probably but I refuse to sign up for streaming/subscription services. I'd rather own my music that I purchase. And I like things high quality which is why for all music I care about I still purchase CDs (if not vinyl) instead of buying a compressed-to-death version off iTunes, as convenient as it might be otherwise.

Now, iTunes until the most recent "updates" worked fine with downloading the artwork for me after I imported such CDs. Now it's a bit more flaky - and what's worse, even the artwork it captures on my Mac's iTunes doesn't copy to my iPhone 6 or iPod. Just stays blank.

What I need to do at the moment for a workaround is what I did ca. 2002: find the artwork on the web, copy it to the album (after deleting the iTunes provided artwork) and then copy it to the iPhone and iPod.

Why is this happening? I'm current on all versions and operating systems (which I could've stayed in Mavericks for a whole bunch of reasons but that's for another day). I'm tired of the amount of errors that are sneaking into Apple's software and the increasing number of incompatibilities. There really is no more "it just works" even if that was a bit an overstatement always anyway. It's worse than ever.
