In the past I've been able to make copies of songs from iTunes by just selecting and dragging the songs from iTunes to wherever. Recently, however, it's been unable to do so when a large number (i.e. >10) of songs are selected. If I drag, say, 30 songs to a folder, the folder will briefly show blank icons and the filenames, but then they disappear and nothing happens. If I try to copy the songs to a flash drive, I get the "Preparing 20 songs for copy" dialog for a few seconds, then it disappears and nothing gets transferred.
I tried trashing prefs... but otherwise I'm stumped. Copying songs one at a time works, but copying more than 20 at once will always fail. Any ideas?
EDIT: Found out the problem... if one of the files you're currently copying matches 1) a file already in the destination folder or 2) another file currently part of the copy batch.... iTunes will just abort the ENTIRE copying process, silently, without any indication of what transpired. It won't even copy files up until the point of the violating file; it'll just fail the whole process. Time to send a bug report......
