Hi,

I've got a 4th generation click wheel iPod (20gB). It's worked fine for over a year but now everytime I plug it in and open iTunes it doesn't show up in the source list!

I've tried everything Apple suggest on the iPod troubleshooting page and still no joy. It also doesn't work on my girlfriends laptop, so can't be a problem with my PC? (N.B. They both run on WindowsXP :(

The iPod does still shows up in My Computer as an external hard drive.

Can someone please help? I can't afford a new iPod :(

Thanks muchly.

Yeah thats right- itune on my machine and others wont recognise it.

The list of tasks Apple tells you about in their 5 Rs page is pretty much all the end user can do in terms of trying to fix an iPod. Maybe take it back to Apple or a certified technician to get it fixed.
