iTunes not syncing music to iPhone

I'm on iTunes 12.0.0.140 and I no longer see the "Sync Music" screen with my iPhone. I see "iTunes Match is on". I haven't subscribed to iTunes Match (although I have an Apple Music subscription). And a new album I bought isn't syncing to my iPhone.

Also, I can't update iTunes. I click on "Check for updates", it says a new version is available, I click on "Download iTunes", it opens the Mac App Store and then nothing happens.

Any ideas?
