I'm on my desktop iMac running OS X 10.9.5 and iTunes 12.01.26 and software update doesn't show any newer version.

The problem: I add music tracks to the library through "Add to Library". They do show up in the regular Music tab, but may or may not show up in "Recently Added". Very often they simply don't show up. Or, if I'm adding more than one album, only the first one will show up in "Recently Added". I've tried checking and unchecking the "Live Updating" box in the "Recently Added" preferences, I've tried changing "show added in the last 2 weeks" to different times and periods. Nothing.

The only thing that helps is quitting iTunes and opening them back up, then the "Recently Added" will show up all the stuff added - but if I start to add more, we're back to the same nonsense, where either the "Recently Added" is completely empty, or only shows up the last album.

What to do? Googling I see people discussing this, but only in the context of not syncing with the iOS devices - but I have this problem on my desktop OS X 10.9.5.

Ideas?
