iTunes on iMac won't stay paused

All of a sudden when I pause iTunes on my iMac it will unexpectedly start playing again after a few minutes. Can't seem to find a way to stop this. Any ideas?

Are you in room with someone else? Could someone be playing a practical joke on your with either a physical remote or the remote app on an iPhone.

Long thread on this last year on the Apple site. I know because I was having the problem myself with iTunes starting on it's own and playing/pausing automatically. Lots of suggested solutions. I'd put the blame on iTunes getting too big and complex for its own good.
