Itunes on Windows and Mac

Hi,
I have a problem.Hope someone can advise me on this.Thanks in advance.
I have an Itunes (In windows)that work with my Ipod.Recently i got myself a macbook and it too come with Itunes.When i plug my ipod into the macbook itunes,all my songs in the Ipod were gone. Now my question is there a possible way for me to plug my ipod into my windows desktop and also my macbook and upload songs without loosing any songs in my ipod?

Note that if you do, you lose the ability to sync information like playcounts, ratings, etc.. back from the iPod.

I use my ipod with my main computer (Mac Pro) and i can transfer files to my laptop (macbook pro) when i need/want.
