Been reading this post over at Cult of the Mac, and it got me thinking. Wouldn't it be sooo cool if Apple was to make our entire itunes libraries accessible online so we could access our music from anywhere anytime via a mobile me account or app on the iphone. Would be awesome, and would really combat the new Spotify.

When do you think this is going to happen?

I doubt the labels would allow this, they're trying their best to break Apple and regain control of music distribution. Why would they let Apple compete against their own company (Spotify).

Plus this is kind of already available via third party programs - though you need to keep your computer running at home. You can stream your entire library to an iPhone, another computer, or anything with a browser.

Breaking News!!

The scuttlebutt, as you probably know, is that September 9 is the date for this years' iPod/iTunes refresh event in San Francisco. That is now most assuredly true because I just got this e-mail ad from J&R Music World in New York. It tells us all we want to know AND THEN SOME! Here's the text. Enjoy.
