iTunes started asking for my Apple ID password when I opened it. I ignored it, just clicking Cancel and going ahead without any problem. The message pops up a few more times, and I just continue to hit Cancel. I finally decided to just enter the password, expecting some new demand to follow, but nothing else popped up. So it was usable, and worked fine.

Now iTunes is opening on its own, either when I leave the Mac idle for awhile, or when it is restarted. And of course, the first thing it wants is my Apple ID password. I checked, and iTunes is not one of the apps set to start up at login.

I think this might have something to do with iCloud and syncing with my iPad and/or iPhone. I sometimes get a notification that iCloud needs something, but when I click to open iCloud preferences and then enter my Apple ID password, nothing else pops up.

This is not a major problem, but if anyone has an idea about how to fix it, it would be nice to get rid of it.

I found an Apple ID Application token in Keychain. I deleted it. I did not Restart.

I opened iTunes. It still asked for my Apple ID Password. I entered it.

I clicked on the Store button. It opened. I clicked on the Account Menu and selected Sign Out. I Quit iTunes.

We'll see if that gets rid of the password request...
