iTunes organization question

Hi all,

Here is what I want to accomplish - keep music on my local drive (and keep audio media files organized). Any new music would be copied into iTunes media folder - which I have elected to do in preferences.

The issue is I want to keep videos/movies on an external drive and do not want any new files automatically added to the iTunes media folder on the local drive.

I do want to be able to access everything via Apple TV.

If it matters, I'm on latest OS and iTunes; early 2009 iMac. At some point will be upgrading to rMBP...

If there is an existing thread that answers this specific question, please let me know - I didn't see it when I searched for it.

Think I got it

Well, since I probably won't be ripping any music cd's, I'm just going to uncheck the copy media to itunes folder. Really wish the choices were more granular - I left apple feedback stating such. I'll be on the lookout for an itunes update within the week...
