itunes password expires?

I have been happily using my itunes password for a long time. I know what it is and did not change it, but now all of a sudden it says it is incorrect. Do passwords just expire or what? Why didn't I get any notice that this would happen??

Still don't know why my password just stopped working. I tried resetting and it wouldn't let me use the same one. Apparently itunes now requires your password to be impossible to remember. At least 8 characters long, one lower case, one upper case letter, one number, and no consecutive characters. It's so frustrating since I had a pw less than 8 characters that were all lowercase letters, and it was easy to type on the iphone. How are you supposed to type these crazy characters into the tiny keyboard every time I want to dl a free app?! I'm not even going to remember it! I know it's more secure, but if I want to risk it, I should be able to. I've never had a problem with it. Yes I want some cheese with my wine!
