Apple just released iTunes Phone Driver in Software Update. I wonder why it wasn't included with iTunes 5. Doanloaded, installed and restarted (yes it required a restart) and all seems to be fine. I don't have a iTunes phone, and have no plans to get one though.

gah! i was just gonna post this! beat me to it, hehe.. well its cool.. here's the pic..

I just selected it in SWU and hit delete so I don't have to see it every time SWU launches. I'm not gonna buy that crappy phone.

Apple needs to design the phone for it to be done right. Other companies just don't get it.

I don't understand. You guys are JUST getting this???

I had this pop up in software update the day after the keynote.

Strangeness

Agreed. My Sony Ericsson has been able to do this for a long time. Even has a memory card slot, I can put all kinds of MP3's on it. I suppose the ROKR has the advantage of AAC's and album art, but other than that it still doesn't make up for the god awful interface Motorola creates. My SE feels like a mini OS X desktop.

I dont think it will bomb just because its a cheap phone with itunes, and if you can get it on a good plan, then it will get demand. But its no iPod and I think most people will hold out for the next gen or real iPhones. Wonder if you make a phone that the new ipod nano actually slotted into. That would rock.
