Hi all

I have been using iTunes for years and recently got an iPhone 3GS, and syncing everything together worked perfectly until a couple of weeks ago, when suddenly everytime I opened iTunes it seemed to try to run some sort of installer, which took many many minutes, after which iTunes finally opened. It was irritating, but not major.

However, as of last night, iTunes won't open at all - it tries to run this installation package, but finds that it can't, complains that it doesn't have the correct iTunes.msi file, and experiences a 'fatal error' message.

I tried uninstalling iTunes and re-installing the latest version, which worked the first time, i.e. iTunes opened up fine and everything was there, but after a restart the problem had the same crash/error problem when trying to open.

Help!! I am presuming that it is something to do with a failed update to iTunes, which someone has tried to do on the PC (I'm not the only one to use it), but I have no idea now how to fix it.

Any ideas brilliant people?!
Many Thanks
