Guys,
I use a program called Tag&Rename v3.17 to update not only my mp3 file names but also the ID3v2 tags and artwork for each file as well.
The process I go through is to have Tag&Rename search Amazon for the track info, it downloads it and saves that info into the ID3v2 tag. Now when I play that file in WinAmp it comes up fine. However in iTunes 4.8, it will list for some tracks previous residual info in the tag and not the most up to date info.
So for some songs it will list the Artist as "Various Artist" instead of "Coldplay" if the track comes from a compilation, even though I have updated the Artist info to Coldplay and every other of the 4 programs I have to play mp3's does not throw up any issues other than iTunes.
Any ideas why iTunes would show residual info rather than the latest info? When I tried to convert the tracks to ID3v2.4 in iTunes it lost more info (like the Artwork) than actually adding or even adhearing to what it should actually be displaying.
Any tips would be good.
