Resolved iTunes Problem

When I try to download previous purchases onto my macbook air (2011), I get this message that says:

iTunes couldn't download your purchase

You didn't have write access for your iTunes Media folder or a folder within it. Change permissions (in the finder) and then choose Store > Check for Available Downloads.

I tried looking in Finder but I didn't find anything, can anybody help?
