I'm trying to backup iPhone A and do a restore on iPhone B using iTunes. iPhone A has never been connected to iTunes before. The reason I'm not using iCloud for the backup is there is more than 5 GB worth of photos in the camera roll.

My problem is these 3 things are not getting backed up:

  • photos
  • apps
  • contacts (only some contacts are being backed up, but not all)

Now, it's my understanding that the apps not getting backed up is normal, and they can just be downloaded from the Purchased section in the App Store on the phone. Annoying, but fine.

However, I can't find a solution for the photos and the contacts. Could anyone please advise?
