iTunes problems (sharing music)

i have itunes, the newest version for PC, my brother also has the newest version, but for a MAC, we are trying to allow each other to look at each others music, but the loading bar at the top, once i click on JP's Music, just keeps on going and like an hour later a message appears that it cannot connect. we have double checked that all of the firewall ports needed are open. Does anyone know a solution? if so, it would be greatly appreciated

I suggest checking the ports on your router's firewall
(I assume you are using a router to connect your Mac and PC).
