Firstly I'm not sure where to put this, so sorry if its in the wrong place.

I purchased the first season of The Walking Dead from iTunes and the quality seems pretty low even in HD. There are scenes where there is a lot of noise(looks kinda fuzzy). So I was wondering if there was a way to play the videos in VLC? It crashes every time I try to load one of the episodes.
I used VLC a lot on my previous Windows computer and loved the filters that sharpened and improved the image in lower quality videos.

Thanks.

iTunes videos are DRM protected so playing them on VLC or any other player other than iTunes and Quicktime will not work.

Some of the graininess that you are seeing may be due to how the episodes were filmed.
