My iMac today had an "update software" box that updated Safari and (IIRC) a security package of some sort. I always update whenever OSX tells me there is an update. The update required a restart. I update with no errors, and the restart went fine.

Now, a ton of programs are crashing on startup: iTunes, iPhoto, Quicktime, iStat, BOINC manager, etc. Half of my widgets don't start at all. None of these will run.

I've checked for any additional updates and I get the "you're computer is up-to-date" message.

OSX 10.6.7 is the version I'm running.

Any suggestions?

Nevermind...

I wound up reinstalling OSX and running all the updates. This time, everything worked and I didn't (apparently) lose any data.
:D
