Is there a way when I play a song that it won't automatically be added to my iTunes library. I like that iTunes is the default music player, but sometimes I am just listening to new stuff that I know I probably don't want in my library. Is there an option where it will ask me first if I want it there or not...it will save me the trouble of then having to delete it. Thanks for helping out a Mac newbie.

If you have the Finder window in column view and have selected the item, you can play it in the preview column on the right. I won't guarantee that it won't add it to iTunes, since I don't have an audio file free to try it on (all mine are already in iTunes), but I suspect it won't.

Another option is that you can either right click the song and open it with Quicktime Player, or you can drag the song to the dock icon of QuickTime Player or any other program that can play song files. All of these will result in playing the song in that program without putting it in iTunes.

Thanks for that simple tip. That will work for me!
