itunes rearranges my music from their folders..

i am moving from pc to mac. when i put my music folders into iTunes/itunes media/music it rearranges,deletes folders and move songs into other folders how do i stop this and have my music arranged the way I want them?

iTunes -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Uncheck "Keep iTunes media folder organized"

edit: This behavior has nothing to do with PC vs Mac, you just had that option disabled on your Windows machine. It's checked by default.

second edit: I used to be like you, insisting that my music was arranged the way I wanted it. Then I realized it made my life less stressful if I just let iTunes do what it wants behind the scenes. iTunes is nothing more than database management software, let it manage the back end however it wants and all you need to worry about is the user facing UI.
