is there any way to make itunes see an external harddrive as an ipod, rather than use libra to change the library location every time i plug it in?

itunes recognize harddrive as ipod?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by the "library location". But as to the HD as an iPod question, it's not possible. iTunes doesn't look at the file structure to determine if a given device is an iPod, but looks for certain components that only iPods have. In other words, it's not possible.
