Short Story:
Iphone stopped working. Buying a used one from a friend.

1. Will my itunes sync up to it? (To get my contact list)
2. Is there a way to reformat/wipe clean friends Iphone?

kthanksbye.

Your friend should connect it to their computer and click Restore to bring it back to factory settings (how it was when it was first used) This will wipe everything.

When you plug the restored iPhone to your computer, it will act as if it is a new iPhone and sync everything to it, including your contacts in Address Book.

arrrgghh!

Its already in the mail.... can I just hook it up to my mac and tell itunes to delete it?

HHmm.. this has become quite a hassle.. surely there must be an alternative route. I might have to pay someone to do this for me?

Many thanks in advance...

On the iPhone try:

Settings > General > Reset > Erase all Content and Settings

This should work. But I've only done the Restore way.
