Sorry if this has been posted before, but I have (or possibly had, it's sporadic) and issue with itunes changing the song info on certain tracks.
Take one example. I had downloaded an MC hawking track from an official site. I labeled its album name as "A Brief History of Rhyme" (it makes sense if you know the artist). One day, a single one of the songs off of the album (I had a few, 3-5 maybe) was changed to "A brief history of Rhyme: The best of MC Hawking". Not a problem, except now it's on a different folding in my iPod. I changed it back.
A slightly more problematic example was when I ripped "Welcome To The Monkey House" (Dandy Warhols) from a friend. His was a burn already, and for some reason was missing the third track. I manually labeled the rest. No problem.
Later, I was playing the Dandy Warhols from my ipod and noticed two album folders: "Welcome To The Monkey House" and "The Best Of Car Talk". Oddly enough, it had changed "Rock Bottom" to a different -and rather random- album. It changed nothing else (it was still track 12 of 13, etc) but... WHAT?!
Any ideas? I'm fairly confident it isn't a virus.
