iTunes Remote for the Mac
https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/dc29eb4230e642b1b60ac3cc3b420221

I've disliked Apple's Remote app ever since it debuted on the iPhone. The long load times and the extra clicks the user is forced to do before it can be used has discouraged me from using it for years. So I’ve created a replacement. It’s not as pretty as the Remote app, but it’s much, much faster and way more convenient. Although this is a Siri shortcut, it's designed to be used without dictation and to make as little noise as possible. You can use it to play music, movies, and TV shows. To stop a TV show or movie from playing simply press "Next" or "Previous."

I've also added a few more handy shortcuts to my iTunes shortcut page...

Lock Mac - this locks your Mac and powers off the display without changing any settings

Computer Audio Output - selects the master audio output device on your Mac

Computer Volume % - sets the master volume on your Mac

Hi Aguaman! I saw your blog but had a hard time leaving a message and just happened to find you here while doing a search! I LOVE the apple remote and use it all the time but I do hate all the extra taps like you said. So what you've done is here is AMAZING!
Buuuut I can't get it work. I have an iPhone 6s/ios13 but the iMac is 10.14 so idk if that's an issue. I tried both flavors and ran into different issues with each. Is this something you can help me with?
