hey guys

I have a WD my book network drive that i have connected to my router via ethernet.

i am trying to run my itunes library off /volumes/public/shared/music/itunes but when i restart my computer itunes resets the media library back to default ??

please help

The reason why its defaulting back to your music folder is because your WD drive is asleep and iTunes can't find the library.

Create an alias of iTunes and put it on your WD drive. Then drag that alias to the dock. Now when you click the alias in the dock the drive has to spin up before iTunes fires up this way iTunes can see your library and use it without you having to tell it where it is every time. It just takes iTunes a few seconds to open especially if you have a big library.

I do this using a Time Capsule and it works fine.

i just added my shared music to my login items, seems to have done the trick.
