Hi:

This is my first post to the forum. Yesterday, I used iTunes to make MP3 copies of a few CDs. I copied the files to an exFAT external drive (via Finder). When I connect the drive to my PC (Windows 7), the files are all 5 KB and in the format ._filename.mp. They won't play on the PC, but will when the exFAT drive.

Is this behavior a "feature" of iTunes? Is there any way around it, or do I need to do my rips on PCs exclusively?

It's not an iTunes issue. It sounds like the files did not copy correctly.

I tried several times to copy them. The thing is, the OS told me I was copying over 200MB of files, but that amount of data does not appear to be there in windows. If the external drive is connected to the Mac, all is good. If connected to the PC, just 5 KB files. I was not able to discern the relevance of the linked thread to my situation.
