iPod touch iTunes says "iPod sync complete. OK do disconnect"

My iPod is recognized my iTunes but it doesn't list the music, movies, etc. icons underneath....any ideas

Mine did that earlier. After a few unplug/plugs.. and quit/restart itunes it started to sync everything back on. It was weird and it took about 4 hours before it worked.
